Jesus stripped of his garments is the Tenth Station of the Way of the Cross, which depicts one of the last scenes before the crucifixion. Jesus is standing at the cross and the executioners are ripping his garments; he is stripped in order to further ridicule him. One offers him some wine mingled with gall.

The belongings of the person who was crucified always belonged to those who crucified him. Therefore, four soldiers who put the Lord onto the cross, divided up His clothes into four parts; a part to each. There was one tunic which was woven, without a seam. So they said to one another: ‘Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.’ So they did this and one ended up with the tunic.
